About Mrs. CarpenterMy name is Becky Carpenter and this is my 10th year teaching at Creekside. I have taught 2nd grade for 9 years. This is my first year teaching first grade. Teaching is my passion and I can't imagine having any other career. I grew up in Milford and graduated in 2000 from Milford High School. After high school I attended Michigan State University where I received my B.S. in Child Development and Elementary Education. I was fortunate enough to attain a job right out of college where I began teaching at Creekside. During my first four years of teaching I continued my education and completed my Masters in Reading and Literacy Instruction. Since the completion of my Masters I have continued taking graduate courses in a variety of areas.

My friends and family mean the world to me! |
On a more personal note, I married my husband Ben in January 2009. We met on a missions trip to Ecuador with our church. It was a life changing event and I hope to return there at some point. We are blessed to have two sons. Ethan is 4 and Joshua will be 1 in December. They keeps us busy and on our toes but we love every day with them!
We love to camp! Every summer we camp throughout Michigan. While I love to sit next to the fire, Ethan loves to dig in the dirt and get as dirty as possible. Joshua kept busy crawling around picking the grass and trying to eat it. My husband and I dream of retiring some day, buying a large lot of land on a lake and building a campground.
